Cabinet Repair: Save the Kitchen You Have
Hinges, drawers, doors, and finishes restored across the Phoenix metro, at a fraction of replacement cost.
Most kitchen cabinets do not wear out. Their hardware does. The hinge screws strip, the drawer slides bend, the doors sag out of line, and slowly the whole kitchen starts feeling old. Homeowners look at that and hear "remodel." A repairman looks at it and sees an afternoon of hinges and slides. The gap between those two numbers is enormous, and it is worth understanding before anyone talks you into new cabinets.
Here is the reason cabinet repair works: cabinet boxes are the durable part. Plywood and particleboard boxes screwed to studs will outlast several generations of the moving parts bolted to them. When a door drops or a drawer grinds, the box is almost never the problem. Replacing a kitchen because the hinges wore out is like replacing a car because the tires went bald.
Bleuwave Handyman repairs the moving parts and the visible ones. We re-anchor stripped hinge screws so they hold for good, replace worn slides with modern soft-close hardware, realign doors until the gaps run even, rebuild drawer boxes, repair shelves and shelf pins, and touch up finishes dulled by grease, sun, and the Valley's bone-dry air, which shrinks wood joints and loosens what humidity elsewhere keeps snug.
Repair is also the honest first step even if a remodel is somewhere in your future. Working doors and smooth drawers buy you years to plan and budget, instead of remodeling on the schedule of your most broken drawer. And if we look at your cabinets and repair genuinely is not worth it, we will say so plainly and tell you why.

Questions, answered straight
My cabinet doors sag and will not line up. Can that be fixed?
Almost always. Sagging is usually worn hinges or stripped mounting screws, both fully repairable. Modern adjustable hinges also let us dial in alignment precisely, so gaps run even down the whole cabinet face.
Is it worth repairing cabinets instead of replacing them?
If the boxes are sound, yes, decisively. Hinges, slides, alignment, and finish work restore daily function at a small fraction of replacement cost. Replacement earns its price when boxes are water-damaged, structurally failing, or the layout itself no longer works for you.
Can you add soft-close to my existing cabinets?
Yes. Most face-frame and frameless cabinets accept modern soft-close hinges and drawer slides. It is one of the highest-satisfaction upgrades we do: same kitchen, and the slamming is over.
The cabinet under my sink has water damage. Repair or replace?
Depends on how far the water got. A swollen cabinet floor can often be replaced as a panel once the leak is fixed; rot in the box structure argues for replacing that cabinet. We fix the leak first, always. New wood under an old drip is money on a countdown.
Why did my cabinet doors warp or my joints loosen?
Phoenix's dry heat pulls moisture from wood year-round, shrinking joints and occasionally cupping doors, and sun through a kitchen window fades finishes unevenly. Most of it is repairable, and finish touch-ups plus adjusted hardware handle the common cases.
