My slider is hard to open. Do I need a whole new door?
Usually not. Nine times out of ten the culprit is worn rollers, a dirty or damaged track, or misalignment, all repairable in a single visit. Replacement makes sense when the frame is warped, the glass has failed, or you want a different style or better efficiency.
Why is there fog between my patio door glass panes?
The seal on the insulated glass unit has failed and moisture has gotten between the panes. Desert heat cycles are hard on those seals. The fix is replacing the glass unit, not necessarily the whole door, and it restores both the view and the insulation value.
Will a new patio door actually lower my cooling bill?
